Our Public Works Department is dedicated to maintaining the essential services and infrastructure that keep our community clean, safe, and running smoothly. From streets to utilities and public buildings, our team provides hands‑on support and reliable service throughout the city.

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Managing and servicing the city’s water and sewer systems, including meter reading
  • Maintain Continuing Education Credits for wastewater, sewer and safety licenses
  • Maintaining city streets, including pothole repair, debris removal, and sign installation
  • Mowing, trimming and caring for public green spaces
  • Operating equipment such as mowers, tractors, skid loaders and snowplows
  • Maintain wastewater lines, wastewater treatment facility and lift stations
  • Water testing is performed 7 days a week
  • Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs
  • Respond to service requests and emergencies, including storm cleanup, water main breaks, and snow removal
